Handmade Wooden Mallet

Simple, rustic, one of a kind hand turned wooden mallet. Hand crafted here on our farm from solid hardwood with a smooth balanced handle. Perfect for wood working, carving, leather work, or general shop use. They also make a charming kitchen mallet or a unique fishing bat!

Mallets are individually handmade without any forms, template or guide making each piece truly original. All wood is sourced directly from our farms hardwood forest and each piece is finished in natural walnut oil, or linseed oil and sealed with beeswax sourced from our on farm apiary. 

Traditional round mallets were originally designed to for chisel work, joinery, carving and leather work where the user would relax grip of the mallet between blows in a fluid toss and catch like motion which greatly reduces the stress on tendons and muscles allowing for extended use and reduced fatigue. 

This mallet is made from slightly spalted maple wood.

Finished with Walnut oil (Nut Allergy Alert) and beeswax.
